Once registered, you will receive a ZOOM meeting link the day before the workshop.

Day 1: Initial forming and carving process with tips on variations that allow different looks

Day 2: Assembly and completion with tips about making the piece uniquely yours. Q & A at the end.

Tools and Materials

• Clay You will want to have ready 10 to 12 pounds of well wedged clay of you choice for making up to 4-5 boxes.

• Cutting Wire 7-15” cutting wire of your choice. Dirty Girls brand, Mudtools, Kemper, a fine guitar string or piece of fine fishing line all work.

• Loop Type Trimming Tool Basic loop will work but if you have a few variations on hand it could be helpful.

• Banding Wheel a small banding wheel will make the carving step easier you can also work on a small bat, ware board, or a square of canvas to accomplish the same end.

• Needle or other Scoring Tool

• Wooden Paddle The box is made in two parts, so a paddle or similar implement will be helpful for tamping the bottom part to the upper part when doing the final assembly.

• Soft Support A small Foam Pad or Soft Terrycloth Hand Towel for supporting the piece while hollowing out the interior will help prevent damaging the leather hard piece while thinning the walls.

• Small sponge
